Some research shows a strong relationship between alcoholism and depression. Do you know that 9 of 10 people in UK drink alcohol? Some people think that its part of their culture and feel very comfortable with it.

Actually moderate drinking will not cause many problems. The problem you can find in almost big country is their people become wealthier and alcohol has become cheaper. It is easy to find alcohol and people can start drinking at younger age and then drinking more when they get older.

A research tells us that about 1 In 3 men and 1 in 6 women have some sort of health problem caused by alcohol. Around 1 in 15 men and 1 in 50 women are physically dependent on alcohol.  The reason why more and more people interested to drink alcohol is the taste is good to most adults. Alcohol ingredients and taste can makes you feel relax and makes you easier to talk to other people (this is especially if you are a bit shy).

The bad side of alcohol is you can not drive if you drink it and can not operate machinery. It will also affect your ability to make decisions. Well, high levels of alcohol consumption can lead to physical illness and psychological and social distress. This problem can cause depression (even though depression often used by people to drink alcohol more and more).

The problems that caused by too much alcohol is depression, liver cirrhosis, heart failure, and damage to the brain and nervous system.  Depression effect is common cause of alcoholism as the depressed person seeks a way out of their problems.  Some symptoms of depression are being unable to gain pleasure from activities that normally would be pleasurable, being irritable, and losing self confidence.

Some of symptoms would be losing interest in sex, finding it difficult to concentrate and think straight and having a poor appetite. There is confusion because it is difficult to tell the difference between feeling gloomy and having a depressive illness. This is also a relief from insomnia. But unfortunately, alcohol is itself a depressant. So, the problem is only compounded. But almost everybody who drinks alcohol can develop this illness even though this is not a sign of weakness. Depression is also treatable but you need to see the doctor.
